Angolan Wrecking Machine takes on Santa Catarina’s Sandman!
Lets crack-off with UAE Warriors 53 Arabia vs Africa, another intercontinental collision card which makes complete sense if you think about it. Following the last evening of this format in May, it provided some of the best highlight reels in recent promotional memory with 8 bouts out of 12 not going the distance! So first things first by taking a look at the monumental main event in which two hugely experienced former champions meet with deadly Muay Thai specialist Marcel Adur colliding with arguably the greatest bantamweight in African MMA history, Demarte Pena.
Training under Head Coach Marcio Malko in Thai Brasil, Florianópolis, Adur boasts of 13 knockouts in 24 professional bouts but has yet to be put to sleep himself. He also has a powerful submission game courtesy of his BJJ Coach Igor Soares, giving him a grappling acumen that the former NCF titleholder will most certainly need against Pena. Having worn EFC and Ares gold, the Angolan has been one of the most dominant 57kg’ers in Africa with victories over several UAE Warriors alumni including Cedric Doyle, Mehdi Saadi and Elias Boudegzdame by virtue of his outstanding submission defence and lightning-quick footwork. And even though ‘The Wolf’ has sworn that his ultimate goal in UAE Warriors is to take the belt, he must first get past Santa Catarina’s very own Sandman!
