It’s wonderful to see East London’s Muhidin Abubaker back in the UAE, having had a heady ascent to the international stage from the Cage Warriors Academy as an amateur to a dominant reign as the Fightstar flyweight champion as a pro. A technically tight and powerful karateka, he has been diligently improving upon his grappling by spending this fight camp in Dagestan which sends a warning to his opponent, the former EFC Flyweight Champion from Johannesburg, Gift ‘The Day’ Walker. An outstanding jiu-jitsu fighter with a variety of deadly chokes within his skillset and training under the highly-regarded coach JP Kruger, Walker can also get it done with the fists as evidenced by his stoppage of prominent Brave contender, Dansheel Moodley 2 years ago. Whether he is able to deal with the mercurial grappling and frustrating sub defence of Abubaker is the key question in this cracking main event.
