Fighters Hit The Scale For UAE Warriors Biggest Event Of The Year!

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – All bouts for the stacked UAE Warriors 55 card have been rubber-stamped, including the women’s strawweight title fight and the men’s welterweight championship main event.

With Chile’s Valentina Escobar (6-0) and Australia’s Jacinta Austin (7-2) both hitting the strawweight 52kg limit as well as current welterweight champion Tahir Abdullaev (17-2) from Azerbaijan and his challenger from Uzbekistan, Khotam Boynazarov (9-0) also receiving the officiate thumb, both title fights which headline Tuesday’s sensational event are ready to hit the ADNEC Centre in downtown Abu Dhabi.

Brazil’s Rodrigo Cavalheiro (27-10) lost 25 pounds in 3 days to make weight as a late-replacement for his pupil, Carlos Leal (21-5) who slots

into the UFC 308 undercard in the same city on Saturday against Rinat Fakhretdinov (23-2-1). Cavalheiro now takes on Kazakh kickboxer Erkin Darmenov (13-7) as the first fight on the 55 main card in a bout which precedes the return of former light-heavyweight Tarek Suleiman (12-8) who missed-weight by 3 pounds. His Norwegian opponent Ole Magnor (8-8) immediately accepted the purse deduction. Another former champion, the pumped-up Bruno Machado (16-9) successfully moved the needle to greenlight his showdown with Eduardo Garagorri (15-3) after Renzo Gracie’s younger brother, Robson Gracie Jr. (3-1) made the 80kg catchweight limit for his fight against Iranian Koshti fighter, Amir Alipour (3-1).

In total, all 24 fighters will take part in a card which is being touted by local press as the biggest MMA event in the Gulf region this year, an event which kickstarts Abu Dhabi Showdown week, where a host of UFC stars are set to attend an evening which will feature the brightest and most talented future of the sport.
