The co-main event of UAE Warriors 71 presents a classic MMA narrative: the established veteran against the dangerous debutant. On May 9 at Space42 Arena, Bruno Machado welcomes Bakhtiyar Orazgeldyev (7-1) to the UAE Warriors cage at catchweight (165 lbs), and the stakes could not be higher for both men.
Bruno “Caveira” Machado is one of the longest-serving fighters on the UAE Warriors roster. The Brazilian, based in the United Arab Emirates, has built his career on fight IQ, durability, and a veteran’s ability to read opponents and find solutions under pressure.
Machado’s extensive experience across multiple promotions has given him an understanding of the sport that younger fighters simply cannot replicate. He knows how to manage rounds, control pace, and exploit the tendencies of aggressive opponents. His boxing is sharp and economical, and his Brazilian jiu-jitsu roots make him a constant submission threat.
For Machado, this fight is about legacy. Every time a newcomer enters the organization, the veterans must prove they still belong. Machado has answered that challenge time and again.
The man known as “The Turkmen Tank” arrives in Abu Dhabi with a 7-1 record and a reputation for relentless pressure fighting. Born in Turkmenistan and fighting out of Stavropol, Russia, Orazgeldyev built his record across Eagle FC and Nashe Delo, stringing together five consecutive victories before his sole professional loss.
At 5’7″ (169cm), Orazgeldyev fights with the compact power and forward movement that his nickname demands. He walks opponents down, throws heavy combinations, and thrives in the pocket where exchanges favor the fighter with more power and a stronger chin.
This is his UAE Warriors debut, and he carries the hunger of a fighter determined to make a statement on the biggest stage of his career.
Machado’s path to victory: The veteran needs to use his ring generalship to frustrate Orazgeldyev’s forward pressure. If Machado can maintain distance, use angles to avoid the pocket exchanges that favor the Turkmen Tank, and capitalize on the openings that aggressive fighters inevitably create, he can turn Orazgeldyev’s greatest strength into his biggest vulnerability. A veteran’s composure and counter-striking ability could be the decisive factors.
Orazgeldyev’s path to victory: The debutant needs to do exactly what he does best: push forward, close the distance, and make this a physical contest in the pocket. If he can break Machado’s rhythm early and impose his pace, the Brazilian’s experience may not be enough to withstand the raw power and relentless output of a fighter with everything to prove.
This matchup offers something for every MMA fan. The chess match of a veteran managing an aggressive newcomer. The raw excitement of a debuting fighter looking to announce himself. The tension of not knowing which approach will prevail.
On May 9 at Space42 Arena, Machado vs Orazgeldyev promises fireworks in the co-main event of UAE Warriors 71.
