The co-main event of UAE Warriors 70 brings together two of the most accomplished featherweights on the international circuit. On May 8 at Space42 Arena, UAE Warriors Intercontinental Featherweight Champion Sylvester Chipfumbu (13-6) faces former CFFC Bantamweight Champion Vilson Ndregjoni (11-5) in a matchup that pairs elite pedigrees and proven finishing ability.
Zimbabwe’s “Gladiator” has earned his champion status the hard way. Fighting out of Cape Town, South Africa, Chipfumbu has competed across EFC, Brave CF, and UAE Warriors, accumulating 19 professional fights and a championship title that reflects his standing in the division.
Currently on a three-fight win streak, Chipfumbu enters this contest with the confidence and momentum of a fighter at the top of his game. At 5’10” (177cm) with a 70.9-inch (180cm) reach, he carries significant physical advantages for the featherweight division, and his ability to use that size to control distance and impose his will has been central to his recent success.
His striking is powerful and precise, his grappling is relentless, and his championship experience gives him an edge in high-pressure moments.
Albania’s “The Strong Eagle” brings a world-class résumé to Abu Dhabi. A former CFFC Bantamweight Champion and PFL World Tournament competitor, Ndregjoni has tested himself against the highest level of competition the sport has to offer.
Fighting out of Garfield, New Jersey, USA, the 34-year-old combines technical striking with fast hands and sharp footwork that make him a difficult puzzle for any opponent. Ranked #29 Pound-for-Pound in North America and #17 in the Middle East and Africa, his credentials are undeniable.
Ndregjoni’s counter-striking ability and scrambling skills make him a nightmare for fighters who rely on forward pressure, and his experience in high-stakes environments gives him the mental toughness to perform when the lights are brightest.
Chipfumbu’s path to victory: The champion needs to use his size and reach advantage to control range and dictate the pace. If Chipfumbu can establish his jab, mix in takedowns to keep Ndregjoni guessing, and use his superior conditioning to push the pace in the later rounds, he can grind down the Albanian and assert his physical dominance. His three-fight win streak suggests he is fighting with a level of confidence and consistency that will be difficult to overcome.
Ndregjoni’s path to victory: The challenger needs to use his technical striking and footwork to neutralize Chipfumbu’s size advantage. If Ndregjoni can maintain distance, counter the champion’s advances with sharp combinations, and use his scrambling ability to avoid sustained grappling exchanges, he has the tools to outpoint Chipfumbu and announce himself as a major player in the UAE Warriors featherweight division. His PFL and CFFC experience has prepared him for exactly this kind of high-pressure fight.
Champion vs former champion. Africa vs Europe. Power vs precision. This co-main event at UAE Warriors 70 offers a featherweight clash between two fighters who have earned everything the hard way and have no intention of taking a step back.
On May 8 at Space42 Arena, Chipfumbu and Ndregjoni will deliver a contest worthy of its billing.
