BW Asaf Chopurov 8-0 AZE in RUS vs Demarte Pena 16-3 ANG in RSA

The first of three scintillating title fights at UAE Warriors 64 features the undefeated Azeri Sambo star, Asaf Chopurov taking on Angola’s former EFC and Ares champ, Demarte Pena.

Running an astonishing 21-bout winning streak, Chopurov is a former IMMAF World Champion who entered the pro rankings just two years ago following an unprecedented 33-1 amateur career and has finished all three of his Warriors opponents. With a career that is marked for his tendency to face far more experienced opponents, it will come to a cross roads as he battles for the belt against the bantamweight goat of Africa.

In stark contrast to Chopurov, Pena’s professional career began 14 years ago in Johannesburg where he embarked upon an 11-fight winning streak in the EFC which included seven title defences in two weight classes. After taking the Ares belt from PFL Star, Elias Boudegzdame and successfully defending it against our very own Mehdi Saadi, he started his run for Warriors goal during which the only blip was the result of a dubious split decision against Alaoui. Despite that, his two action-packed wins over Zhalal and Adur have earnt him a shot at gold against one of the most talented Russian bantams on the global circuit.

Their two careers and styles could not be anymore different but the stakes for both have never been higher making this a truly impossible result to predict.
