UAE Warriors Arabia Launches Jan 2020

In the press conference held on October 19 in Jiu-jitsu Arena, Zayed Sports City, Fouad Darwish announced the launching of a UAE Warriors spin-off series: UAE Warriors Arabia. Darwish emphasized the unparalled growth and popularity of the MMA championship series within a short period of time, thrusting itself on the international scene as force to be reckoned with amongst similar, more established organizations.

In his speech during the press conference, Darwish added that such rapid growth and exposure drew the interest of mixed martial artist from around the globe; so much that over 220 athletes from 43 countries competed in the series over the last 13 editions. More than one half of such athletes are from Arab countries or Arab origins but living abroad. Along the way, we realized the depth and diversity of talent amongst Arab fighters, which, in turn, was a precursor for helping a few of them sign with the largest organizations in the business, i.e. UFC, Bellator and ONE FC.

Darwish added, “we carry a heavy responsibility on our shoulders. A responsibility driven from the having the name of this championship associated with the name of our beloved country. As such, we are committed to extend our means and resources towards the progression and betterment of MMA in the Arab World and the MENA region. This why the higher management of the organization, under the leadership of H.E. Abdulmunam Al Hashemi, decided to launch a sub-series within the championship under the name of “UAE Warriors Arabia”.”

UAE Warriors Arabia is set to launch in January 2021, where Arab fighters from all over the world will compete against each other in all weight divisions throughout a series of event that will be held parallel to the international series of the championship. Champions in each weight division will be awarded and will eventually face the current champions of the international series for belt unification.
